Prasanna Venkatesan is a seasoned transport planning professional with over 14 years of experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, and sustainable mobility. His work spans across India, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Middle East, where he has contributed to a wide range of public transport and infrastructure projects.

Prasanna’s core expertise lies in microsimulation modelling, multimodal integration, and non-motorized transport planning. He has hands-on experience with tools like PTV VISSIM, VISWALK, ArcGIS, and QGIS, and applies these to a variety of planning contexts—from metro rail planning and pedestrian movement analysis to traffic impact studies and parking strategy development.

Over the years, he has worked on major regional and urban mobility initiatives, including large-scale public transport planning, last-mile connectivity, and active mobility strategies. His project portfolio includes assignments with leading organisations in mobility planning and design, such as Ramboll, Buro Happold, Urban Mass Transit Company, and RITES Ltd., where he played key roles in delivering transport studies and providing strategic advisory support.
