The Creek Side Master Plan is a proposed mixed-use development in Alarous, Jeddah, encompassing over 100,000 sqm of Gross Floor Area (GFA). The project features office towers, mixed-use residential buildings, and a retail spine overlooking the creek, making it a prominent and vibrant urban destination. The development is expected to generate over 2,500 trips during peak periods, necessitating comprehensive transport planning to ensure smooth operations and accessibility.
The scale and mixed-use nature of the project introduce challenges in managing traffic flow and ensuring adequate parking facilities. Balancing the needs of office, residential, and retail components while maintaining seamless connectivity is critical. Additionally, the traffic capacity of the surrounding road network needed to be assessed and optimized to handle the projected trip volumes without compromising safety or efficiency.
Trublu was appointed as the traffic consultant to provide transport planning advisory services and traffic assessments to support the master plan design. Key tasks included developing a comprehensive Parking Strategy to accommodate diverse users, conducting Traffic Engineering to optimize internal and external traffic flow, and performing a Traffic Capacity Assessment to ensure the road network could support the projected demand. These solutions were integrated into the master plan to create a sustainable and efficient urban environment.
